Now for your consideration...
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?item=65361939 The work is described as ""One Of 500" Hand engraved by hammer and chisel." I have visions of someone attacking these with a 32 oz. ballpeen and a coal chisel - it wouldn't have harmed them any more..... Bob |

hey Bob, I like everything but the iron cross and the "gold" touches. Engraving like that is okay, just a bit, not covering everything

I almost looks like they started with one of those Stainless Lugers from Stoeger (?). While I too am not partial to engraved guns of any sort this one could be a lot worse. If it was done on a new gun and not a collectable example, I'd buy one for about $800-850.
But it would look a little out of place in my collection. ![]()

These "beauties" can still be purchased...many varieties of lugers and other guns offered :
http://www.ahfrichmond.com/ The grips on the lugers always seem to be very ill-fitting. Now if they struck a deal with Hugh Clark, they would get excellent grips and Hugh could hire more members of his Babe-staff... ![]() |

$3,500 is absolutely out of the question.

Don't overlook that "diamond edition" artillery for just under $ 14K...they even offer an "easy payment" plan...
http://www.ahfrichmond.com/projectgraphics/862luger.ahf There must be some market...as they have been up and running on the web site for some time... |

my guess is that they sell 1 or 2 every now and then. It is only a hundred bucks to have a website in your name for 3 or 4 years.

okay, I was a bit harsh - the engraving (minus the cross, etc) does look to be okay. I think the arty edition is a bit over the top - at least there are no nude models on the grips...
