Just one that I tripped on at an auction years ago..... nice and a good shooter as well. Its in .30 Luger.

Eveything about this Luger says it should be 9mm. Has it been relined?

Hi,

This pistol AND the barrel started out as a 9mm without any doubt at all. The land-to-land diameter of 8.82mm is a testament of that.

So either this pistol has been relined to .30 luger or your .30 luger rounds may have had some space to move around in

OK...seems someone upped my medication......

The Luger in question is indeed 9mm.... why I thought it was in .30 Luger......

How accurate is that gun? Looks like it is missing something inside the barrel.

I always found that the presence of rifling has been overrated in the past

Even without much rifling left, lugers are still pretty accurate.

When looking at the last two pictures of the grip bottom I noticed the there were some letters stamped X, I, F and a small O. I have never noticed these before so I had to check my 1918 Erfurt and sure enough it is stamped S, I, P and also has the O. Can any of you enlighten me as to what they mean? Just never thought to look there.

The rifling is there, not as sharp as original but it still shoots good.

Craig, your 1917 was made by Erfurt in 1917, and with a 180,000 made that year, you can see where your 'r" suffix fits in (they ended at approx v).

Bernie, these are considered workers marks, seen on erfurts, also seen on reworks (not that this is a rework)...
