Default Spare Parts: Sandblasting, Strawing, Nickel-Plating

Hi everyone,

please excuse if my english isn't perfect, i got some questions which i hope the luger-fans of this great resource can answer me:

I'm going to swap some original parts like:

- Trigger No 026
- Safetyl No 032
- Auswerfer/ejector(?) No 016
- Riegel (?) No 025

(sorry dont have the correct engl. description at hand)

from the number-matching ones to some spare parts
and refurbish the spareparts (keep the valuable originals "untouched").

Questions are:

- Does Strawing work on matte parts which have been Sand/Glas-Pearl-blasted or do they have to be polished "shiny"?

- Do parts still fit into their places if they have been nickel-plated (as an option if Strawing doesnt work)? Does the Nickel-plating reach into the small grooves of the safety for example?

- Does decent Sandblasting tear off too much material so that they wont function / fit properly?

- Has anybody used an ultrasonic-cleaner before and is it worth to spend a few bucks on a semi-professional unit?
