Default hold open failure

What would cause the hold open to not function. The gun doesn't jam, feeds perfectly, no broken parts, gun clean and well lubed...just won't hold the toggle back after last shot. Any ideas??? Thanks...G

Hi,

-Holdopen spring is getting weak.
-Bottom of the toggle lacks support for the holdopen.
-Holdopen support bit that interacts with the toggle is worn.
-Weak magazine spring.
-Ammo doesn't allow the toggle to open far enough to engage the toggle.

In addition to above:

Weak recoil spring allows the action to function so fast that the holdopen doesn't have time to engage.

There also may be some swelling or dirt on the inside of the grip that doesn't allow free movement of the magazine follower button, and hence the holdopen.
