The C&R license will allow you to buy anything that meets the criteria inter or intra state. No more having to go through an 01ffl. The only problem you might have is some dealers will not honor it. Most can be educated, but some

refuse and I think it is due to said dealers not understanding the exact purpose of this license.

As to the ATF and as far as inspections go, the license holder makes the call as to where the inspection takes place. You don't have to let them in your residence; you can arrange a meeting at the local BATF office. Bound book records do not have to be turned in to the BATF anymore when you let the license lapse or turn it back in.This was recently changed and is a good thing.

As long as you don't appear to be in the "business" as a dealer, you will not have any problems.

You would be surprised as to how many modern guns you can buy with the C&R license. All Win commeratives, Win mod 64, Many Ruger Blackhawks, etc, and you don't have to go thru a dealer and paper work hassel. Guns you order will come right to your door. Its not a bad deal.

I had a class 01 FFL for fifteen years, decided I didn't need it anymore and let it lapse. This year, with renewed vigor, I applied for a C&R and got it in a few weeks. There are an amazing amount of guns that you wouldn't think would be considered Curios or relics. I am finding that most dealers that I have talked to are understanding of the C&R.

Default Could be useless to you

I have had an application sitting on my desk for months, and since I live in California, I understand it may be of no use to me. Unfortunately, most of the privileges the C&R license offers are not valid in CA. Whether or not you find the license useful depends on what state you live in.
