Twice in one day
Whoopie! I was playing around with a Luger today trying to get the sear to function reliably. Took it outside and loaded a round in the chamber, when I released the toggle it closed and fired! Good thing I was pointing it toward the ground and not toward the dog!
Then later, I loaded a magazine and fired toward the target--I didn't know a Luger could fire two shots that fast!!! My wife was outside also, and I asked her if she heard two shots, she said no, it sounded like one shot. But I assure you that bugger fired two shots so fast that the bullet holes were within an inch of each other!

Hugh-
I had exactly the same experience in a Luger that had a really soft trigger. Turned out that someone had "worked" on the sear. A lesson well learned. I didn't have a dog with me, but it could have been my foot. Regards, Luke

I once shot a brand spanking new HighStandard 22 that would empty a clip so fast you could only hear one loud shot. We put about 4 bricks of ammo through that little gun before the UPS man came to take it back for repair.
