Question Gauges marked MdI

Hello Gents,
I have some P08 gauges marked MdI. Do you have any idea about the meaning of this acronyms.
Thank you for the help.
Cheers,
Mauro

I guess they are made just after the WWII. What do you think Gerben?
Thank you.
Ciao

Hi Mauro,

For our Non-German viewers:
"Ministerium des Innern (MdI)" would translate as the "ministry of interior".

Quite probable, East-Germany looks like a good candidate. As they were using the P08, they would have needed the tools to check and maintain them.

Mauro,

These would have been for police use. The police used Lugers from the beginning of the Weimar era, so the gauges could date anywhere from 1919.

Mauro,

Don is quite right, these are Police gauges. They whould be East German as DDR Polizei issue items were generally marked "MdI" for Ministry of the Interior.
