Numbered BW Mag ???

This one is running on e-Bay.

I did not know the BW magazines were numbered; but this one has a font style to the numbers that may look correct. Pantographed, perhaps ???

Hello to all, I'm pretty well convinced these are correct for Ku Lugers... Maybe someone has some evidence to support or discount my theory on these... Best to all, til...lat'r...GT BTW, Whoever did them, did them well!!

Also maybe police Lugers!!! I doubt they are proper for Military Mausers.

Pantographed for sure, note the rounded stroke ends and outside corners.

GT, I agree that the only BPB/FXO mags that were serialize were for the KU PO8s. Since this was not the normal procedure at either Mauser or KH, it again raises the question of who assembled these lugers for the LW? TH

Bakelite could never be stamped to this depth or possibly at all without cracking it... it would have to be pantographed or melted in with a hot number stamp, but this bottom shows no sign of a melt type stamping... I have to agree with Dwight... this was pantographed (rotary engraved for those than don't know the term).

Any way of knowing a period-correct pantograph-job from a recent-day job ???

Maybe the old pantographs would show some minor chips/dents along the cut numbers and the more recent work would look "fresh" ???

The Scott engraving machines (pantographing units) are run via PC's now days and any letter/number font and size is easy to input to the machine's cutting apparatus.
