Default Knife amnesty

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/5010954.stm

"Crime and insecurity are both aspects of the crisis of Western society at the close of the millennium. This sense of helplessness, itself fueled by the government's monopolization of the means of force, is then used by the central state to justify suppressing still more personal liberties and the right to self-defense. The state presents this process as natural and logical, as the only solution to the problems that plague us. But it is nothing of the sort. It is simply government doing what government does best: monopolizing power."

Jeremy Black, in Chronicles, January 1998

George Orwell would be proud to know that his prophesies are coming true. This is government at it's looniest. This is the strategy of defense....I agree with the Woman in this article that thought tougher penalties for criminals would be better. Jerry Burney

Angry Exile

I moved from the UK principaly for work reasons, but the way things are going, I very much doubt I will return to live there. Blair is making a fine mess of a fine country. I am lucky that I was not yet into firearms collecting when the firearm amnesty took place so I did not have to part with anything, now it is the turn of knives

Will I be arrested for having my swiss army knife on my belt next time I go and visit the parents?...How far is this paranoia going to go?

I suppose once they confiscate all of the knives. Whiffle bats will be next.

Any child with a good pencil sharpener can produce a better weapon than a ball-point!

Do not underestimate the danger of paper cuts. Paper should be banned!

Government bans should be banned.
Look how they raise your blood pressure.
And we all know what a killer high blood pressure is.
