Default Another Webley

I've been reading the Webley thread - an interesting revolver on my short list - and one I could afford.

There is a facinating variant though: The Webley-Fosbery.

This is a semi-automatic revolver. On recoil the entire upper half slides back rotating the cylinder on a cam. I understand it was popular with target shooters at the turn of the century.

I have only seen seen one for sale at Simpson for $9995, and I expect they are quite rare. It's on my short list for after I win the lottery.

It also has some movie fame, being used in The Maltese Falcon, and in Zardoz.

Cheers,

-- Dan

Thankfully, I have no interest in owning one of these, but they are undeniably interesting and cool.

Dan, plan on spending a LOT for one in each caliber.

There is a modern rendition of the theme in 357 made by, I believe, a Brazilian firm. I remember seeing them advertised a year or so ago and thinking they'd be fun. Around $800 was the asking price I think. Anyone else recall it ?
