Default Help with Holster Marking

Picked this Holster up off ebay--description did not include marking, and just recently noticed the maker's name (I assume). Can't quite make it out, and hoping someone can help.
I can see that the bottom line says BERLIN 1915, just not sure of the maker's name on the top line.
Thanks for the help.

I have seen my share of WW1 holsters but have never seen one with a maker mark on the closure strap! This will be one for my archives..Jerry Burney

The only information I can find is the manufacturer is Flatow and Priemer' Berlin. My references only show their names. Bill

I have a 1915 by the same maker, but not stamped on the strap. Interesting!

That's the damndest thing I have ever seen as far as maker marks go. Perhaps after assembling the holster someone realized it had not been marked and picked the strap as the easiest place. I have always believed that maker's stamps were applied to components prior to assembly.

I have run across maybe 3-4 with marks on the closure strap. Suggests that what we think is the "rule" ain't necessarily so. I believe those hard headed german saddlers made holsters the way they wished to within the general military spec and didn't give a pfennig what some quartermaster in Potsdam thought.

Default This has become interesting

Didn't think this was anything other than a regular WWI brown Luger holster. Don't think the person selling it saw the marking on the strap either.
Here is a picture of the inside of the lid, with another mark, a "JR41" and underneath a faint marking that looks like something that ends in a number 1.
Does this mean anything?

Only 14 Jaeger Regiments in the Imperial army plus two Bavarian. That would lead one to believe that it is Infantry Regiment 41.

Thanks, I appreciate all the help in identifying the marks on this holster. Hope I added something to the history of WWI Luger holsters as well.

Everytime someone shows something that is new to experienced, as well as novice collectors. There has been a valuable contribution. We are here to learn as well as teach.

Thanks! Ron
