Hello!
This is my first posting on this site. I have a 1915 dated DWM with the following markings on the front grip strap- 112 K.3.K.1 Can anyone point me in the right direction to research these markings? Thanks in advance! |

Hi Bob,
Welcome to the forum. Are you certain that the first K isn't an R ? If it is, then your pistol is marked 112th Infantry Regiment 3rd Company weapon #1. Are you able to post a good clear photo of the mark? Ron

Well, here is a clear picture of the markings, (assuming I uploaded it correctly to the website.) After re-examining the stampings with a stronger magnifier, I saw that the responses from the forum were exactly correct. I misread the first stamping as a "K", when it was really a partially stamped "R" Thanks for the help!

Bob,
No problem. It's a common error on some unit marks. The 112th Infantry was part of the 29 Infantry Division. And saw heavy action with heavy loses many times during the war. Ron

I just purchase this firearem from Splagt. Let me tell you he is one fine gentleman and a very honest man to do business with. I am so please with my purchase.
I am buying a 1911 ERFURT shooter from him too. No Regimental Marking here however. I look forward to learning much from this Forum. I am so happy I found you. |
