I recently picked up a reichs revolver which has a unit mark on the backstrap. Anyone know what this translates too? 76. A. 5. 126.

76 A= 76th Field Artillery 5= 5th Battery 126 = weapon number Ron

Is the marking on the backstrap (unusual) or on the bottom of the butt (usual)?

On the backstrap. Weapon has the markings VGS&C G.H. Suhl. serial number 9814.
