Default Newbie with little knowledge, but lots of pics...

Hi folks.

My cousin wants to part with his 1910 P08 (possibly adding it to my collection of decidedly more modern firearms ), and I wanted to find out a fair price for it. He's out-of-state, but zapped me these pics the other day.

Could anybody please provide any historical background on this piece and an approximate value? On the latter, if there is anyone in the Midwest that would be a good appraisal resource, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Spike

its a nice one, and there were not a lot of 1910's made (first year requiring the date stamping).

value, uh, $450 if coming to my collection, probably $1200 or more for your's??

Much depends on if all matching, if not, then half of that....

1910's might go for more...

121st Reserve Infantry Regiment, 8th company, weapon number 1. A very nice pistol and I believe that it is the only 1910 that I have ever seen marked to a reserve infantry unit although Noll notes a few.

I think $ 1200 might be quite low...

Bob & Brad Simpson offer a luger appraisal service and they are only 2.5 hours SE of Chicago...you could drive down with the gun :

Cool.

Thanks, Pete, guys.

I'm trying to figure out how to get it appraised. Don't have it in my possession, and I can't have it in the city (thanks to former Mayor Jane Byrne, current Mayor Daley, etc.). I have to go through all sorts of machinations to legally buy/acquire hardware... The net result is all my toys under my name are in my safe at my in-laws' house in Indiana...

Anyway, we'll figure something out...
