Is this holster genuine?

I bought this holster at a gun show this past weekend. The markings on the back side are very shallow and very difficult to read. I was able to read it by placing scotch tape over the marking which caused the letter to highlight. It reads from the top down as follows:

B.Weidermann
Berlin N39
1916

Then to the far right is: "P 08" in much larger print. The holster is in excellent condition. I have a suspection that this holster is not genuine. Any input will be appreciated. If anyone feels it is legit, an ID will be most appreciated.

Your suspections are correct, hope you did not get to deep into this.
