Default Which Blk Wdow Pics are Correct?

MK has a picture of a "real (right-hand pic) and a fake (left-hand pic). MK's pic of the fake looks identical to the "real pics" of John Sabato's. Plus, descriptions of the real ones jibe with John's not MK's. Will the real Black Widow grips please step forward? mm

My opinion is the real ones are shiny and hard looking! I have a byf 42 with that type on them! Thor

Someone already mentioned this, but real black plastic grips are never maker marked, proofed, or anything. All of the reat ones have a hole, sometimes two, and they are threaded inside. Most of the fakes do not have the threads inside the hole. There were many different makers of this grips, as they were not just make at one place, so you do have a varity of shades and holes and even inside designs, but all have the threads and none are marked.

MK's picture of the back of the BW grip that was on the right looked alot like the grips that were on the imports from Finland in the 80's.....these imports also had 5" barrels with a rather angular front sight.....Tom H. could tell us for sure...Till....later...G.T.

I'll try and get a new picture up as the one I have there now isn't doing the trick.

John Sabato's picture of real grips are like my real grips.

I need to get the non-slotted fake panel up so you can see it as it is definitely different than the ones posted so far.

Default Thanks MK. I have reasonable credence in the authenticity of my grips

Since my BYF41 was a vet bring back, and I bought it from him myself... The gun sat on the top shelf of a closet for close to 30 years, and was never repaired or updated. It also came with it's holster, belt and buckle.

I would really like to see your photos of the "fake" grips so I know what to look for...

John,

You now have good pictures of my black grips which I now believe to be pretty good imitations. Feel free to post those.
