This is on a Walther KKW SA (Sturmabteilung) training rifle. I have scoured the web without luck to find out what this mark means. Any help observations or outright guessing would be appriciated.

Hi Doug, My guess would be a Weimar Reichswehr unit. If it is a unit mark.
The / is used in Reichswehr unit marks. "PI" could indicate a "Pioneer" unit. The "O" I'm not sure of. Ron

I believe it is a marking unique to the NSDAP and not military at all as it bears the SA property mark. Perhaps someone on the Wehrmacht Awards sight can help you, there is a pot-full of knowledge regarding all things Nazi with that group. They make us Luger people look like a bunch of tweed wearing pipe smokers.
