Post Odd AC 40 P38

Several years ago I bought this pistol for $375.00 from a dealer who had imported many hundreds of these guns (P38's) from the Ukraine, I only wanted a nice AC 40. Somehow this pistol has no import marks. Aside from that, the cartouche on the slide has been "scrubbed" with the rework program (Russian), all of the small parts were kept together. I think this pistol is significant since there are a few "fake" pistols with this marking on the left slide, the gun was not sold to me as such. What do you think? It is very unusual.

The additional e/s on the slide seems to make a case for the barrel replacement, (for reproofing?) the locking block has no such marking.

Enjoy!
