Default Questions on stainless Luger

I just purchase today an as new Stainless Luger. It Has Stoeger on the right side. Luger on the left, Eagle on top, and SPM Houston Texas USA also on the right side. It appears to have never been fired. The serial # is S36xx. Can anyone tell me if this SPM is the same company as Aimco/Orimar etc? Is this one of the earlier versions with issues of soft metal? Year of Manufacturer and so on. Im new to this forum so any help and info is appreciated.

Thanks

All the stainless Lugers were manufactured by SPM/AIMCO/Orimar. The Lugers are of varying quality, and there are strong opinions on the value of the Stainless guns. Some like them and some hate them. Usually for the what you pay for one of these you can own a genuine original Luger...

Welcome to the forum. Whether or not you got a good deal depends on what you paid.

I am sure that I am not the only one who would be appreciative if you could put as much as you can recall into a 'tutorial', so to speak, on the stainless Luger clones.

There has been much speculation on the type of steel, heat treatment (if any), and other incidental information on them...

Perhaps you could do us all a service and write up as much as you can.

Thank You (in advance!).

Thanks for the rundown on the Stainless Lugers. Info about them is not as hotly pursued as it might be, so I really appreciate the posts. Though it's 2nd hand from machinists, it is still good just to know about it.
Now I'm aware that the Stainless Lugers were made by 3 different "houses" here in the states, and the alleged differences in quality are better defined. (I had heard just the opposite from a dealer in Buffalo who claimed to have an earlier one that worked well, and a friend there who had a later one which, in this case was the "hunk of junk". )
Stainless alloys vary quite a bit in their content. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stainle...tainless_steel This article may help, you may recognize the name used for the stainless by your Texas machinist friends. Don't know if I speak for all, but I'm still hungry for more info/research!

Hello Louis, I see that you succeeded in registering under a false name again.
You know what the consequences will be, I guess?

Members, please disregard any information posted by vaavoosh. Another false registration by a troll weak on the facts, and easy with non-verifiable information.
