Artillery on Gunsamerica
1918 Artillery w/stk @ Gunsamerica #976298142...$1200.00
Looks like a reasonable price depending on the reblue. Maybe a Thor candidate. Regards Ken D |

Most members of this website who are also members of the National Automatic Pistols Collectors Association (NAPCA) ignore Gunsamerica because of unkind words spoken by a representative of that website about lugers in general. With that said, I looked at the luger that you mentioned. I feel that this is one of those Lugers that I would love to take a closer look at in person. It could very well be a good buy. You might not even want to get Thor to rework it. But thats a grey area. The grips are not good, but to rechecker them would make them too good if you don't restore the gun. With a three day inspection period I see litle risk in trying for it. A 1918 artillery is a tough year to get. Forget the stock, its a repro. Ask the seller about the bore and if there is any pitting. Interesting gun though.

No problem Ken. But for people who might be interested, when I mentioned earlier that you should ask the seller about pitting, I ment asking about the outside of the Luger as well as the bore. The asking price of $1200 isn't a bad price if the gun only has superfical outside wear. The repro stock is a plus because even those things will sometimes go for $100-150. This reduces the price of the gun to just about $1100 (including something for S&H). Certainly worth a look-see.
