Nice site, I had to email them about the Lugers in the pics and the holsters also.
I'll post the reply when it comes.

Quite the nice collection of military collectables. I've never seen such a large gathering of Springfield Model 03 rifles. He has a nice looking G43 on one of the top displays. Looks like it’s been re-blued though. And like one of the previous posters mentioned, these rifles have the bad habit of sometimes spitting out springs and sometimes even the extractor when fired. In one of the next frames there is a K98 with a ZF41 “scout sniper scope.” And below it what looks like a prewar Mauser, telling from the huge amount of cosmoline on it. Both are missing the hood sight and cleaning rods, and the one with the ZF41 looks like it’s seen extensive use. Only one Luger. All the items look very pricey indeed. The SS side rail sniper scope look most suspicious. The part with the SS “lightning bolts” stamp looks much newer than the rest of the apparatus. And the SS never ran any factory that manufactured optics as far as I remember, so a manufacturing mark like that is most perplexing.
If anyone wants to see a real obviously faked SS item, check out this link: http://www.auctionarms.com/search/di...temNum=2946622 It’s almost comical. Cheers, Curt Jensen |
