Hello Go!! Welcome!! The "S" looks okay to me, but the price is a little high. However, if the Luger is 97%, with a real two matching magazines, a nice 1938 holster and a small E/63, it's close! Hope this helps.

Nice rig. The finish is original, notice the extracter which is in the red, a trait of 38 dated Mausers. Just compared to 'S' to that of my 1938 S/42 and it's absolutely correct. Is it worth the $3400? The Luger market is very soft right now, so that's pretty objective, but it's a sound investment and a nice (rare) example so you probably can't go wrong. I'd be most concerned with the authenticity of the two matching mags and want to have a look at those numbers, that's where you most commonly see faking.

thanks for the info...What would be clues to the mags being correct or fake?
