Default ppk qurstion

I just picked up a crown N ppk, it is marked crown N on the bbl end, the breach and the slide, serial number is 8141xx when I removed the slide it has no numbers on the inside of the slide to match the frame, the wear seems to be the same from frame to slide, the mag, has walther banner and 7.65 mm no other marks. can any one tell me if the early ppk's did not have the serial numbers on the slide inside? is this the correct mag? and what date was this produced? thanks

Serial number or at least the last few digits should be scratched on the inside of the slide. They did not stamp them. You should check the P-38 forum for production date.

At first I couldn't see mine, but in the right light you can see the faint scratched numbers. Look in bright sun light.
