These guns with unmarked toggles were indeed intended fpr an insurgent party in the middle East. The delivery was deemed too sensitive and the pistols were rerouted to German police forces.

Yours is a nice police marked example and it seems most of the rare magazine safety is still present.

The barrel insert is a 4mm M20 training barrel, allowing users to train indoors. It was not issued with the pistol.

In the mid 1980's ODA's from 5th SF Gp. 'assisted' the Moroccan Govt. against the Berber tribes known as the Polisario. I believe simply an extension of the Riff conflict that lasted decades. The Sahrawis had revolted and taken a few desert border towns.
We trained and 'assisted' Moroccan forces (created a Moroccan Commando unit) that took them back. Never even made the news in those days but it was an interesting extended deployment.

This is still going on today....

I may have to look for one of those pistols.

Intermixed Alphabet Commercial t and u suffix, blank toggle, right receiver army WaA66 acceptance (c/N civilian proof left receiver) or right receiver WaA66 acceptance and two other eagle proofs (various styles) without civilian c/N left receiver proof.

SPECULATION and it may be that the parts (blank toggles) themselves were prepared earlier for the failed Rif contract, but not actually used in assembly until approx. 1928.
