Unit markings on a DWM
I have a DWM with unit markings S. D. IV. 1449
serial # 8919, the unit markings are also on the holster. Any information about these markings would be apperciated. |

It is a Weimar Germany era Police unit mark. S.D.IV.1449 means Schuzpolizei Dusseldorf, 4. Dienststandort (specific district of Police service) and 1449 is a police inventory number.

This pistol is listed in Table 7-5 of History Writ in Steel. As Klaus says, Dienststandort (Duty Station) IV was the city of Duisburg.
