Default question on police gun

Question for the forum:

Legacy Collectables has a 1906 DWM Commercial in 9mm that has a side plate that appears to have a cutout for a sear safety.
How can that be? Just curious as to how that would happen on a 1906 Commercial?

Thank you for any input on this.

Fred

Side plate is a replacement, if it has the correct number, a co-incidence, JMHO.

Also, notice that the sear bar is incorrect for a grip safety pistol.

May I ask what this has to do with the difference between Army and Navy stocks?
