I saw this today and thought it would be a good photo test. Some will know right off and others may not, heck I may even be way off base.

Norme has it, of course he would.
It's a short frame 1906 Commercial upper on top of a long frame i suffix grip safety. The lower falls in the serial range of the A&F and Swiss commercials. |

And the serial number is?
Could you report the sn on both the frame and upper? Any more pictures? --Dwight |

Serial number is 2571i and the 1906 upper is 29667. You have the 1906 listed in your database but it is reported in both 9mm and 7.65mm. I put this on layaway only because the lower serial number sounded real familiar to me..as in I have seen it somewhere. I have always wanted a commercial in this i suffix range and now I have half of one.

The Alphabet commerical started at about 2000i in 1923. Since it has the grip safety, it probably is a left over 1906 long 7.65mm frame or perhaps a M06 Navy frame, if it also has a stock lug. TH

The long frame is in a part of the i suffix serial range populated with Swiss-style pistols for the Swiss market--long frames without stock lug, grip safety, variously with 3 3/4 or 4 3/4 inch barrels with old-style sights, Swiss cross-in-sunburst on the receiver.
