Portland Gun Show Report Sept. '04
The Rose City Gun Collector's Portland Expo show is this weekend. I'm relieved to say that the downward trend of the last show has not continued, the respectable number of gun tables has returned and the non-gun/flea mkt./beef jerky contingent is few and far between.
Lugers on the other hand, are pretty sparse. 1911 DWM unit marked no holdopen, not bad except for a refinished sideplate, $895. 1918 DWM LP-08 with a Simson e/6 4" rebarrel and PTV/eagle Berlin Police Armory acceptance mark, not too bad condition, $895. 1916 DWM, bread-and-butter Imperial, decent shape but lots of barrel wear, $475. Mauser Parabellum, 4" 9mm Swiss-pattern, $750 (I think...) Jerry Kramer was there with a selection of high-grade, high-price Lugers: 1913 Erfurt with stock lug, $1,595 Mauser Banner Swiss Commercial $3,695 Pacific Arms 6" barrel, medallion grips, blank toggle, GERMANY stamped lengthwise on the chamber top, $4,995 byf 42, $1,995 1906 American Eagle, $1,895 1906 American Eagle, $2,995 1906 Swiss cross-in-sunburst, $2,995 1906 Portuguese M2, $2,695 ERMA .22 conversion in box, $749 Original trommel mag loading tool, $1,000 and thats about it. --Dwight |

Hi Dwight,
Thanks for the gun show report and letting us know the show is improving, again. Did you get any details on that Mauser Banner Swiss ? That seems like a fair price...what was its condition ? Regards, Pete... |

Jerry Kramer doesn't sell anything thats lower than 95-98%. I'm going back tomorrow, what do you want to know?

Hi Dwight,
That price seems like a bargin... Record serial number (should be a "v" suffix) and if in original finish or not... It should have the polished area under the safety as well... Might be worth a trip in person to see this one... Thanks, Pete... |
