Alert !! Stolen Costanza book
Fellow forum members,
Please be on the look out for a World of Lugers book by Mr.Sam Costanza. If you see one that appears to be too cheap or has library markings on and in it, please notify the local authorities. The only copy in the entire state of Louisiana Library system was stolen from the Jefferson Parish (County) library in New Orleans. I had rented the book once before a year or so ago, and I requested it again two weeks ago. I was informed that they could not find it and was probably stolen. If I had to guess, I think it was probably stolen by someone with the intention of selling it. I honestly don't think a Luger collector would pull such a stunt. Mike |

I bought my copy from Ralph years ago! A real loss. Over 400 pages and weighs a ton. Kind of hard to walk out with!

Thanks for the stolen property report Mike. I hope they find that the book has simply been misplaced, but you are probably correct in your thinking that some scumbag took it to sell.

Well that shoots that possibility. I bet its still there! During law school at Villanova books were always being misplaced! It was probobly a reference book that couldn't leave the library. It should have had an a alarm. First thing I would check out! It is an expensive book!

Eric,
I have all of Jan's books. What I am looking for is a list of serial number Mr.Costanze provides about known GNR Portuguese Lugers. As I recall from reading that article in the past, all the serial numbers are 7.65mm except one 4" 9mm. That Luger as I recall it was serial number 1965v. |

Eric,
The Luger came out of Tennessee. You may not have caught my earlier question, but are you still looking for a flaming bomb magazine? |
