I have bought the holster of the attached photos. The mark seem to be the Police one: is it correct? in your opinion is original or fake? If original, is it possible to trace (using the S.B.6173 mark in the back) the group to which it had been delivered?. Thank you in advance for your kindness.

This is an original police holster. It has been modified by reenforcing the closure strap with two rivets. It has an East German Vopo starburst on the back.
I have seen this exact modification before and I am sure a member with more information on this will respond.

Doug, The star is not East German but original to manufacture.

Actually, the star is acceptance mark of the police armory in Berlin which was the purchasing agent for all Prussian and later all German police. It is a genuine holster that has been reinforced somewhere along the way. The marking S.B.6173. is the propery marking of the Schutzpolizei (state police) of Berlin and matched that of the Luger it carried in service. It's a nice holster.
