Default :| Luger Holster on eBay ONLY $435.00 ! <

At least it was the last time I checked... Can it really be worth that much??? What makes it so rare?

Jerry Burney? Anyone else care to comment?

Default Luger, lugers make my heart sing :)

I hear that!

I think the close up photos on e-bay are very descriptive and good, but is it rare?

I mean Koln is a favorite town of mine (Cologne), but I wouldn't pay that much for a holster unless it has a lot of value?

There are 6 or 8 bidders on it, but maybe they are jsut excited or two guys need these hoslter for their collection?

Just the other week I watch a Luger holster go off for $125. It was black WWII and in only good condition, still not bad.

One never knows till you post it on the Bay. Great place to sell. Tough to find a good deal, but you can get lucky.

As far as I can see it is not all that rare nor is the condition pristine. I have seen very few cordovan colored holsters and that may be what is driving these people. Who know's why? Jerry Burney

Would I pay that much? No! But then again when I sold my leather off I got top dollar. The key to this auction is two fold. First the seller took very good detailed photos and lots of them. Secondly he posted it when someone HAS to have it. Also note that the bidders all for the most part have low feedback. These are the ones that usually get caught up in the bidding frenzy. Also you mostly see black mid grade holsters for sale. There are also some who collect the leather only and may not have had this particular maker yet. When I sold my police holster it brought $525! Granted it had the numbered loading tool with it. This is just my take on it.

It is a unique color and the pictures leave nothing to the imagination. The last picture, in fact, puts it into a setting (this is all an example of fine marketing). This is important. With all the views of the holster it would be hard not to know what the condition is. It is still overpriced in my opinion.

The good part about bidding on ebay is you bid what you think its worth. The bad part is you bid what you think its worth. A seller of an item at at gunshow ect. will set a reasonable + price knowing what its worth and hoping to get a little more. There is no environment of value on ebay except human nature. And we all know how little of an impediment that can be. There is always the I paid more so its worth more part too.

Good Day folks, been awhile since I posted anything.

When I looked at the holster I noticed that it didn't have a quick release pull strap used to left the Luger from the holster for easy extraction.

Does anyone know when the pull strap first came into production and how long it remained in production?

Was it common on all issue types, Military, military police, commercial, etc.

Regards to all

Default Good to hear from you Robert!

If you take the link in the first thread to the actual auction the other photos do show that the holster has the strap you are speaking about. This feature was used even before the Great War...

regards,

-John
