Reno Gun Show...
As some of us know, the Reno gun show is coming up on Friday-Sunday, March 21-23, 2003.
Would like to get a head-count of folks that might be attending... It might be fun to plan to following as well : 1. "Dutch treat" dinner on Friday night (3-21-03) with Luger Forum members that would like to meet socially. (And no, Dutch treat does not mean this Dutch-Indonesian national is buying dinner... ) I would suggest we all met at the main entry door to the exhibit floor at 4:30 pm to figure out who will make dinner... 2. For folks driving in; bring along some interesting lugers for "show & tell" in our respective hotel rooms. These can be newly acquired pistols for bragging purposes or even some "lessons learned" lugers. The latter might be more educational; so others can learn what may be "not right" with a luger you own... The headcount I think we have now is : Doc Fisher Herb Keister Jim Ferreria Jim Elson Russ Withem me... All other are welcomed to join us ! Regards, Pete... |

Hello Russ,
The more the merrier for dinner... My wife has an appreciation for my new luger hobby but I did take her to a couple of gun shows in WA. State and found she really did not enjoy herself... Thanks for posting your table location... Hello Tom, Thanks for the great reminder about tire chains...March weather is very uncertain...hope to see you a few weeks later in Tulsa in April... Regards, Pete... |

Pete, sorry to miss you guys. I either had the wrong time, wrong door or the wrong gun show. I waited till 4:45 and figured there must have been a change in plans. Brought my Martz 357 Sig for "show & tell". I'll post photos when I get home.

Sorry I didn't get to make it this time, bu tI am planning on the Aug. show there in Reno.
Hopefully I can finally get my fantasy gun bought. Just wish the wife and kid's wouldn't cost me so much money all the time. I still have way too much room in my gun safe for me to be comfortable.

Hello Jim,
Sorry to have missed you. I was on the look out for other Forum members at the 1st. entry door, by the smaller room. You missed a nice Friday night dinner, but I hope you had fun at the show, anyways ! Regrets, Pete... |

Hello Clayton,
Look forward to meeting you at Reno in August. Next time, I will try to get all attendees to trade cellular phone numbers, so we do not miss anyone like we did with Lodi Jim, this time... Regards, Pete... |

Hi Pete,
I didn't make it up the hill this time. I've been fighting a flu bug so I wouldn't have been much fun to be around anyway. I will definitely be going to the August show so I hope to finally be able to buy you dinner then, and show you the Krieghoff I bought from Doug Smith last year. Woooohoooo! If I had a digital camera I could show pics. Oh well... See you in August. |

Hello Jimbo,
Look forward to seeing you again at Reno in August. In a couple of weeks Doc Fisher and I are getting together at Mike Krause' gun shop in San Mateo. We usually meet on Saturday at 1 pm. I have just acquired a NIB Smith & Wesson model 41 target pistol in 22. cal. from the late 1950's that is just a beaut, that I will bring over for show and tell. I think Doc will have a nice 1913 DWM rig to show off by then, as well. If you can come down from SF and meet us there, I can take digital photos of your HK and post them on the Forum, if you want. Send me your contact info. at "pebbink@pacbell.net" and I will contact you and let you know when the Saturday date firms up. Regards, Pete... |

Son of a gun! My last handgun I purchased last year was a Mod. 41 circa 1957, according to the box it was in. I never cared for my Ruger .22 and really like the Mod. 41, far far better.
San Mateo is in my backyard. Give me a date and time and I'll meet you at Krause's. Last year they had a K43 sniper rifle for sale and I'm curious if it sold or if it is still hanging on the wall. And I'd love to bring a couple of my nicer Lugers for you to photograph. It would be pleasing to see them on the forum. Thanks Pete, Best way to contact me is by e-mail: route66jim@earthlink.net Jimbo |
