Hi Luger guys & gals -- I registered some time ago in the interest of learning more about these pistols, but got terribly sidetracked (1.5 years). Well the bug for a luger bit me again, so here I am.

I own a gun business, mostly into custom 1911 pistols, but am not open to the public and I don't have a showroom. Also in an underpopulated area in Southern Illinois, so not a lot of Lugers to be viewed around here.

I've been thinking of a road trip to Galesburg, IL to Simpson, LTD, I don't know those folks but see they have a bunch in stock.

Unfortunately, Galesburg is a a LONG haul from me. When I say "Southern Illinois" I really mean SOUTHERN MOST ILLINOIS ... Paducah KY is the largest city nearby.

So me, having German heritage, and just recently learning some of the REAL story of my Grandfather in the Wehrmacht, started researching German history. Of course, always having an interest in guns, see the Luger and want to learn more and find one for my collection.

Hope to learn lots here, John

Browse their site and give them a call. They will pull a Luger out of the vault and discuss it with you in real time. They also will entertain offers...

I bought my 1900AE from them. Good people.

It would be worth the trip. Pack up the Wife and kids..make it an overnight and spend some time in the shop looking and learning. You won't regret it.

I took Sheepherder's advice above and gave Simpson LTD a call after browsing their website. Talked to LeRoy (Salesman) and he pulled a few Lugers, then got Robert (Bob?) (Owner?) on the phone with me... Robert went over each pistol and helped me select one. He was very patient and answered my Luger Newbie questions.

Pistol came yesterday, I'm well pleased

Selected a 1916 DWM Police rework, 9MM. All matching except for the magazine.

And now more learning begins !
