What were their serial range. And does anyone know how much would the command in good condition?Forgive me if I asked, since my coma, I have to write my wifes Debbies' name on my wrist?

Eric,

Only 2 were known (identified) to be made under GL's direct supervision for the US trails. We can safely assume that only a handfull were produced.

During the Weimar years, DWM produced a handfull more.

So about 1.500.000 USD should get you in the right direction

Not that I'm aware of, although there is the odd one that appears now and again, like the 'lunch box specials'. These were 9mm versions reportedly built from parts smuggled out of the factory.

Werent some were produced without serial number, such as prototypes?I cant find my 'Lugers At Random' I lose everything, probobly under the bed, You can see why I needed 4 secretaries!

The very "controversial" .45 Luger carbine that popped up for sale with Shattuck was SN 21 and it had the 55 degree grip strap angle.

The 45 carbine is still displayed on Ralphs site. Is this the luger you feel theres something wrong. Ill stick to my 9cal.

Eric, From the books that I have read, 5 .45 Cal. luger prototypes were sold to the US Govt. in 1907 for testing, Two are known to have been destroyed in testing, 2 are still known to exist and the 5th is the one we all hope to find. The US requested to purchase 200 more to test against the Colt M1905, but DWM declined to tool up for less than 1000, so the Savage .45 was ordered instead. TH

Eric, finally purchased the Historys' "Tales Of The Gun, Lugers, Wow everyone has a staring role. There is Ralph surrounded my a wall of his rare treasures, Fred Datig lends his own perspective, This is a definite masterpiece. A section devoted to Mikes handmade masterpieces,It also feature to fireing of the 'way too cool', one of two 45s. A great stocking stuffer. Be cool, shoot straight!
