Norton Internet Security conflict
John D,
It appears that an innocent part of the html code is triggering the "adid=" ad block. I added "adid=" back into my default list and the threads were once again blocked. I viewed my blocked content log and it identified the following offending code: A href="showthread.php?s=34b472650b56c92ca1aaf45643fa1216&goto=lastpost&th readid=9903" (Reason: "adid=") Emphasis added by me. My guess is that NIS picked up the offending character combination in the A href string and chucked it. I was playing around a bit with adding a permit string on the ad blocker (a more appropriate solution), but I couldn't figure the right syntax. You'll be the first to know if I get it. Jack P.S. I couldn't reach the new site with the .pcf address.... I had to go in with the numeric code.

Thanks Jack!! Honestly - I'm surprised they concatonate the "adid", rather then the more precise, which should be .../ad..... Since it's common to most PHP programs (the "threadid" definition is used by VB, PhpBB, UBB Threads, etc.) to call specific posts..???
Anyway - a great catch!!! I'm guessing on my other forums (http://forums.rennlist.com), those won't show either (it has over 18,000 registered members and over 3/4 million posts - so it's pretty big).. You can try that URL in a bit - but I'm backing up that database right now, so those Forums are off-line for the next little bit)... Jack - great feedback! Thanks again!!!! John D. |

John D,
Figured it out. The Ad Blocker wasn't recognizing the www.pcf.forums... address. I added the site numerically as: 64.145.15.196 into the "Web Contents Options" list of Ad Blocker. Set Ad Blocking to permit the html string "adid=" on that site specifically (64.145.15.196) and everything appears to be working well. If anyone encounters this problem and needs help, post here and I'll post a step-by-step. I did not have this problem with NIS 2002, I recently upgraded to NIS 2004 and that's when it started. Jack
