Last question, possible unit marking?
Hey fellows. I know I've asked a lot of dumb questions. I have one last to ask. I was looking over the old Erfurt again today. I noticed on the base of the barrel, where it meets the trigger guard there is a very neat engraving of numbers. It reads 8,8 2. It looks handstamped, but neat. Any idea what that could mean?

yes, it is the land-to-land measurement, it could be 8,81, 8,82, 8,83 etc, up around 8,85 or 8,86, (might not be that high) to be within tollerances.
We don't mind questions, but then you buy the luggger books and answer the questions next year! Ed
