new acquisition
Today I picked up a pistol with very few marks. S/n is 9700s with 00 on the underside of the side plate and the rear of the toggle, which is marked DWM. The take down lever has 18 under it. The left front frame has C/N. The barrel is stamped with C/N with the s/n 9700s under it. There are no markings on the right front of the slide. The trigger, take down lever ,mag release and slide spring have been strawed. The rear grip plate has a large M, under which is an anchor, and under that is (N.697). The grips are not marked. The mag has an aluminum bottom with the following--N4841X(the x is a lazy x) Under that is 5632, under that a (g) with a plus under that. Above the mag toggle is E/37, just above that is 122 and near the top is E/37. I believe this is an early Nazi Navy pistol. (with help from Jans Weimar and early Nazi Lugers). Any ideas or further info will be greatly appreciated. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

Al,
the take down lever is a replacement lever. It, like other small parts, should have "00" on it. Is your Luger a P-08 or a P-04? It sounds like you mag is a replacement mag too. I would want to see some pictures before I say anything else about your gun. Big Norm |

Al,
Your 29DWM Luger is in a range where all of the reported examples are Reichsmarine marked. Pictures would be interesting. --Dwight |

Big Norm and Dwight--Thanks for your responses. I have some pics in Picasa that I'm trying to send, but as yet I'm stymied. Can pics be sent in a group or must they be sent individually. ---Al
