Default Cutawy of Swiss Pistol 06/29

New toy...: Cutaway of a Swiss Luger Model 06/29, caliber 7,65mm Para, SN 40003. Obviously it’s an original cutaway produced by the Waffenfabrik Bern (W+F):
  • There are no ordinary Pistols 06/29 in this number range. The numbering of Pistols 06/29 began with SN 50000. There is another cutaway of a pistol 06/29 in the 40000 number range with SN 40004. This pistol is located in the RUAG collection (former W+F collection).
  • The cutaway SN 40003 shows on the left side the inscription KTA 55.117 (KTA = Kriegstechnische Abteilung).

Cutaways of Pistols 06/29 are rare - beside SN 40003 and 40004 I know for sure only from one other W+F cutaway. This pistol has SN V19 and is also located in the RUAG collection.

From time to time cutaways within the ordinary SN range appears. I suppose that these cutaways are not originals produced by the W+F, but I’m not sure about this. All known original W+F cutaways of the Pistol 06/29 do not have any proof- or acceptances stamps.

Very cool!

It does seem to have some wear...Was it from an armorers school or something similar???

Beautifully thought out placement of all cuts, to show the operation of all parts. Thanks, Tom

today I was for short visit in the RUAG collection in Thun / Switzerland and had the opportunity to bring my SN 40003 together with SN 40004 from the RUAG collection.

Beautiful, I like cutaways too, but thank God at least they are only two W+F 1906/29 ...
