Unit marking?
Just above the lanyard loop on a dbl. date 1916/20. There looks to be the 6.11. I take this is a unit mark. If so, what unit? Thanks.

Given the location and brevity of the marking, it is what's called a pre 1922 Reichswehr provisional marking. The Army instructed units prior to 1922 that unit markings as desired by the individual commanders could be placed on weapons in nontraditional locations so as to preserve the traditional location for official markings when they were finalized.
