Default Borchardt Barring Bar

There currently is a Borchardt Barring Bar for sale on Ebay. In the description, the author mentions that there is an inscription on the side of this tool. Does anyone know what the inscription "GESETZLICH GESCHUTZT" means?

Hi Norm,

It means 'Legally Protected', an early copyright notice.

Norm,
The above answer is correct although in the US we more often see it written as "Patent Pending".
