Shopping at the San Francisco Gun Exchange
Hi. I decided to lightly oil my Luger this morning--it looked handsome when I finished so thought I’d snap a photo and share. When I fire this weapon, I have to use the two original Mauser magazines. They work fine most of the time. However, I bought one of the modern versions and it won’t even stay in the pistol--doesn’t want to latch. Anyway, I thought that some of you might enjoy seeing my 50 year old pistol.

The San Francisco Gun Exchange was a legendary store, one that I was unfortunately never able to visit before it closed. I do have a holster of theirs for a Navy Luger.

I made a visit in my late teens. Upon entering the front door I was greeted by a Colt Gatling Gun. The big brass bodied example with the mag on top. SF is my birthplace and my father ran a trucking company with the office off Army street. Had an uncle that lived there too. It has changed and is unrecognizable to my memories. Unlikely I will ever visit it again. Ruined.
