Mauser P08... what to pay?
I may have a line on a 70's era Mauser Parabellum.
9mm 6 in barrel standard blue not Swiss style What would be a reasonable price to pay for this, either NIB or like-new, no box or papers? Oh, and did they make a version without a grip safety? (don't know yet whether this one has a grip safety or not, but I would prefer not) TIA |

Hi David,
I cannot help you with the price but if you want to see some of the models produced by Mauser you can have a look at my web site and click on "Mauser Parabellum Gallery". Yes there is a "commercial" model, not commemorative, that has been done by Mauser without grips safety. I have one of these models but they are quite rare. They use the frame of the commemorative P08 to build some P08 with the commercial numbering (10.xxxxxx or 11.xxxxxx). You can see this model on my web site. Cheers, Mauro http://www.lugerlp08.com

David,
I think the price has crept up to $ 1150-1200 in the USA. I paid $ 875 for my swiss 6", 9 mm about 3.5 years ago. Your P-08 grip style usually costs a bit more but is not C&R approved by the BATF either, unless one of the listed commemoratives. I see them on the Simpson and FGS web sites, with their higher retail over-heads, at $ 1350-1450. |
