Post Help with script suffix please

This is a BYF 41 that I have. The serial number is #8247 but I can't work out the suffix. I still have trouble crossmatching them to the table. Can someone please tell me what it is? This pistol looks very nice but has been refinished in East Germany. Fortunately the original grips survived and weren't replaced with the VOPO models. Here are some photos:

It has two suffix - a "y" over a "q"! Never saw that before.

The marking above is what I thought was an East German circle X mark. Here's a photo from a different angle that shows it better.

That is a much better look and makes more sense! When I copied the first photo, lightened it a bit and did a little gamma correction, the mark sure looks like a dead ringer for a "y" (Suffix table 2, second "y" variation). The difference is so remarkable it almost looks like two different guns - which it isn't of course. So we are back to just a "q" suffix.

Thanks Ron - I promise that it isn't two different guns - just one lousy cameraman.

Actually, both photos are quite good. This has been a good exercise and a valuable lesson for those of us who try to evaluate guns based web pictures. What we are looking at isn't always what we think we see. If there is any question about a marking or feature, it may well be worth a look from another photo/angle before making a decision. Thank you for giving us a very graphic example of easy it is for your eyes to fool you.

I have trouble with several of the real suffixes, when you see it in pictures such as drawings and trying to figure it out, well, I just have trouble takes practice I think?

That "X" looks a lot like this one from Les Center's (Dok) Vopo Luger.

Hi
The suffix has to be a Q because there were no G's in the 41-byf production. Q's and G's are easy to confuse. No tail on the Q. 41-byf Lugers are found in the n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z, ns, a and b. I would think the mark above the Q might be a West German mark. Doubt Mauser had a hand in it.
