Anyone got a 1/4-25 Thread Tap?
That's right, not 1/4-20, 24, or 28... but 1/4-25.
That is the size tap for the guard screws for a 1903 springfield... I need to chase the threads in one guard screw hole where the screw had to be drilled out... It is a real odd-ball tap size... Brownells has them for about $20! plus shipping... but I only need it for one gentle reaming of the threads in ONE hole... If you will lend it to me, I promise to take good care of it and return it promptly... and replace it with a new one if I damage it... Thanks.

Thanks PL...
For Every one else... don't be put off by PL's private message... if you have this tap I need to hear from you. Whoever can lend me this tap will receive a fresh copy of my Luger Blueprint CD for their trouble. Thanks.

I have access to 03A3 parts, if you don't mind stamped parts I most likely can get you one. Price would be most acceptable.

RK, if you have this tap and can lend it to me, let me know and the CD is yours... but I think you misunderstood me. The threaded hole that needs to be chased is in the receiver, not the stamped trigger guard. I have all the parts, but not being able to put the rear guard screw in, makes assembly of this old drill rifle impossible. Let me know if you have access to the correct tap to straighten these threads out...
thanks a bunch,
