Default What is the meaning of this stamp on the stock?

I picked up a shooter a little while back and am curious what this mark on the front left of the stock means?

You show the stamping upside down, but then who would know? It is a Farsi serial number 3218, supposedly for one of the Persian contract artillery Luger pistols from 1936. The wood does not appear to me to be walnut so I would guess that yours is one of the many fakes maade in the 160's or 70's.

Ah, that helps. I don't know how to identify walnut but it wouldn't surprise or upset me if it were a reproduction. thanks for the reply!
