1916 DWM Shooter
Got a good buy on a 1916 DWM shooter in 30 Cal. It is matching less barrel and magazine. The barrel is 7 3/4" and the front sight has been milled to accept a white insert. The magazine is correct, bright nickel with wood base, but not of matching numbers. The grips have matching numbers, but appear to have been varithaned. The finish is 99+% blue and 100% straw. For a shooter it sure looks good IMHO. Can't wait to get some ammo for it. Take a look at it at my pic site

Neat looking gun! What's the deal with the barrel?? Loos like it might have been custom made from a .30 cal rifle barrel?
PS. If you reload check ebay as there is a ton of .30 Luger brass for sale cheap.

Herb, I like it! Looks like the long range armadillo dueler.

Doug, I haven't a clue on that barrel. It is obviously of recent manufacture, and does not conform to the appearance of a standard Luger design, which is strange. The front sight appears to be a standard 18 rib Luger sight but with the white insert applied to it. The underside of it has only a capitol "G" on it. There is no indication that the barrel 'band' of the front sight is soldered to the barrel, it appears to have been pressed on. This is the second mystery rework that I have in my collection. I will post some pictures of my Bulgarian shooter later. By the way the blueing is consistant through out, so the barrel was there when it was refinished. The blueing is so dark that it is actually a deep black.
