FXO mags are made by C.G.Haenel Waffen-U-Faharradfabrik of Suhl. The body is salt blue or black and of extruded steel, black plastic or aluminum with pin bottom, zig-zag spring and stamped P.08, normally found with Lugers marked 42 with byf toggles. The FXO will be stamped on the left side of the magazine body, and a proof eagle over 37 will also be there.

The Germans used Ordnance Codes to signify manufacturers. As Herb pointed out fxo stood for Haenel, as byf and svw signified Mauser. Mauser from 1941 through 1944 was byf and in 1945 it was changed to svw. Perhaps a way to confuse the point of manufacture of military items. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
