Default New christmas toy

I just couldn't pass this one up. Finding anything remotely historical over here is a nightmare, let alone a stocked C/96 in a workable condition:

Traded in a mismatched frankenluger and this baby will be sleeping in my safe now.

The bad news: I need a breech block...

You may also want to try "LugerDoc". He ruined me with this C/96. "Lugerholsterrepairer" would be someone to contact for some custom leather. Between the 2 of them, they got me suspended from my gun club for firing this pistol on the rifle range. =). Congrats on your purchase. These are really fun, accurate, weapons.

Ed, glad you said it.... I was tempted, but thought a moderator might "bleep" me.

Hey Gerben, A nice one! I'm still looking for a 96 rig that I can afford.

Congratulations! Ron

Well,

Finally got the thing home and it's not bad at all. It appears to be a 'pre-war commercial' variation, which has been used quite well, several small parts have been replaced. Serial number 206306, with lazy crown/U on the chamber side and a small M / Crown on the bottom of the barrel.

Bore is not bad at all, grips are pretty good for their age, so is the stock. The stock has a different number altogether, but is real.

Gerben, Congratulations! Nice rig...

Glen...Would you Email me that photo of your rig with the stripper clip pouch and harness? It would look really nice in my photo archives! Thanks, Jerry
