I have seen this before, usually either a weak hold open spring and the hold open is probably cycling from firing vibration during the firing/loading sequence or it gets caught by the frame if it sticks a bit. The other cause was magazines that actually lift the hold open with one round remaining. Rick is right, take the top off the frame and put a loaded/and unloaded mag in the frame and see how the hold open moves, sticks (or not). A lot of the time you can tell quite a bit with just an empty mag in there and push the hold open down with your thumb, does it pop up smoothly? Good luck!

I had the same problem on one of mine. It locked open with one round left in the magazine. If you have it, the E-Book "Luger Mechanical Features" by Gerard Henrotin has an excelent description and cure for this very problem on the page titled "Troubles with the Luger". It involves some filing so if your gun is matching you might want to get a replacement hold open latch to use.
If you do not have the book, this gives you a great excuse to spend about $9.00 to get a good description of how these guns work. Of course then you will want the other 4 but for the price you won't be out very much. Steve Richards |

Sorry, but there is no printed version of these books.
WebTV just has it's limitations. it was designed to allow the masses to surf the web and participate in email... if you want to do REAL computer stuff...like read read the e-books, it is time for you to upgrade to a real computer. The only solution short of this is to use someone else's computer and install the e-book on their computer...
