Rick,

I bought the toggle already made up from Tom Heller. There is a small block soldered to the rear of the toggle to support the sight. The front mounting screw is tapped into the toggle, the rear elevation screw works normally.

Rick,

In soldering the guards on the knives I make, I have found that the solder-flux combo in paste form seems to work best. Second choice is Brownells Hi-Force 44.

Default Silver solder supplier

Here's an outfit that sells the silver solder paste in a syringe for $7.95. It's a lot cheaper than Brownells $25. They also sell other types of silver solder used in the jewelery trade. Hope this helps.
